Our Historic Christian Faith

    An Episcopal priest once concisely summed up the key difference
    between the Reformed Episcopal Church and much of the Episcopal
    Church USA. He said, "We believe the Bible contains God's Word;
    they [the REC] believe the Bible is God's Word." That is so very true!

    We at St. Stephen's hold fast to the authority of God's holy Word for
    all matters of faith and life. And therefore we also hold to the three
    ancient creeds of the Church (the Apostles,' Nicene, and Athanasian)
    as the true expression of the Biblical Faith - "the faith once delivered
    to the Saints" (Jude 3).

    As faithful Anglicans we also maintain the Thirty-nine Articles of
    Religion as our historic confession of faith. They along with the
    Reformed Episcopal Declaration of Principles of 1873, and the
    Chicago-Lambeth Quadrilateral of 1886-1888, form the received body
    of our church's doctrine.
